Lancaster Training Services Ltd (LTS) also offer Vehicle Parts Apprenticeships, an opportunity to work in the garage environment, but not as a mechanic or body repairer.

Vehicle Parts Apprenticeship are all about managing the components that need fitting to vehicles on a routine basis. Everything from helping customers to order the correct vehicle part, packing and loading parts and using handling equipment, checking stock levels, and maximising sales.

Getting Started                                   

The usual way to get started is through an approved Training Programme like an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship.
During your training, you will attend a college/training centre one day per week to gain a recognised Qualification. The rest of the time will be spent at your employer gaining basic practical skills and experience. 

Where you can work as a Vehicle Parts Apprentice

Most Vehicle Parts Apprentices work in large franchised dealerships and motor factors.

Once qualified, experienced parts personnel can eventually get jobs as: Foreman/woman, supervisor or manager; sales manager etc.

Not interested in Parts, why not consider another profession within the Motor Industry? Lancaster Training Services Ltd also provides Apprenticeships in Motor Vehicle Mechanics (both LGV 'Trucks' and PCV 'Buses') and Vehicle Body Repairs, Vehicle Paint Refinishing and Driving Goods Vehicles. Or if you fancy a change in career why not consider taking your LGV or PCV driving test. According to the Freight Transport Association, the UK are still short 35000 drivers this means once you have your LGV licence you should have no issues finding a job.
